We are lucky to have a rich artistic heritage at Harris Manchester. The nineteenth-century stained-glass windows in our Chapel by William Morris and Edward Burne-Jones are among the finest in the country, and visitors come from all over the world to see them.
In recent years, the College has taken part in Oxford Artweeks, either with a show by one of our Artists-in-Residence, or exhibiting the work of staff and students.
Our most recent arrival is the steel and coloured glass sculpture Kindle by Steve James and Vital Peeters. Kindly donated by Ian Finlay, Kindle now sits at the centre of our herb garden.
We have a small picture loan library of original artworks which students can borrow to hang in their rooms. This arose from a creative and generous donation by a former student, Annette Loutit, who wanted students to be able to look at more than posters! Donations to the Loutit Art Fund are always welcome.
