College staff run Oxford Half
Sunday 9th October 2016 saw the return of the Vitality Oxford Half (13.1 miles or 21.3 Kilometres) to the streets of Oxford, with the course passing the gates of Harris Manchester College 1 mile after the start and with less than 1 mile to go to the finish. The race started on Broad Street and followed the Banbury Road up to Summertown, before taking in the beautiful Old Marston Village then returning to the City Centre.
Harris Manchester’s very own IT Support Team of Jonathan Boucard and Daniel Knowles both took part. Daniel entering his first running race chose an excellent event with a relatively flat course and superb weather. Daniel ran with members of his family, and was really pleased they finished all together with a time of 2 hours 25 minutes. Jonathan was running as part of his training for the upcoming Abingdon Marathon, and completed his third half-marathon in a time of 1 hour 55 minutes.
Over 9,000 runners of all abilities took part and the event was an overall huge success – all students and staff are encouraged to give it a go if they are looking for a suitable athletic challenge! more details at http://www.oxfordhalf.co.uk
