HMC Fellow appointed to Cambridge Chair
Professor Louise Gullifer, Professor of Commercial Law, and Fellow and Tutor in Law at Harris Manchester College, has been appointed the Rouse Ball Professor of English Law at the University of Cambridge. This is an appointment of great distinction: it is one of the senior chairs in law at Cambridge, and Professor Gullifer will be the first woman to hold it. All of us at Harris Manchester College congratulate Professor Gullifer on this exceptional achievement, and are proud that a Fellow of the college has been appointed to such a distinguished chair. We will, of course, miss Professor Gullifer for all that she brings to the college in so many ways: as a much-appreciated tutor and encourager of academic excellence, as Director of the Commercial Law Centre, as a splendid Vice-Principal, and as a delightful colleague, but we will look forward to maintaining strong links of collegiality and friendship with her in the coming years. Professor Gullifer will be taking up her new post in Cambridge on October 1st, 2019.
Dr. Kristin Van Zwieten, Fellow and Tutor in Law, will become Director of the Commercial Law Centre, which is part of Harris Manchester College, when Professor Gullifer leaves for Cambridge.
