Virtual Artweek(s) 2020 at HMC: Claude Aussage & Manon Vallé
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Artweek has this year moved online to become ‘Artweeks’ – a virtual celebration of art across Oxfordshire. Although the festival was set to run between 2nd May and 25th May, all of the art displayed can still be accessed via the Oxford Artweeks Website and will continue to be available throughout the summer.
The College was to have hosted an exhibition by the renowned French ceramicist and kiln builder Claude Aussage, and one of his students Manon Vallé, during Artweek. However, that is not to be; but it is still available online and can be found here.
As part of the Trinity Term 2020 Residency, Claude was to have coordinated a series of pottery events at HMC. Sadly, none of those can now take place and the firings have had to be deferred until a later date. Claude has his own kilns in France, and regularly fires at La Bourne – a unique pottery village to the south of Paris.
