Dr Lesley Smith is Senior Tutor at Harris Manchester College, a Fellow and Tutor in Politics, and the Tutor for Graduates for the 2010 – 11 year.
Studied at the London School of Economics, Oxford University and the Pontifical Institute for Mediaeval Studies in Toronto.
Politics and History
The history of ideas, particularly in the medieval period. She also teaches for the History and Theology faculties. She is co-convenor of the third-year. Special Subject on St Francis and St Clare. She convenes the graduate Medieval Church and Culture seminar and is part of the steering group for the MSt in Medieval Studies. Her current work is on the medieval treatment of the Ten Commandments.
Dr Smith is HMC tutor in politics for the undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and History and Politics. She teaches the first-year politics papers as well as core and optional papers in political theory for second- and third-year students.
