Anthony Rowsell is a retired NHS Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, and is a Trustee of the charity, Oxford Cloud Tutors.
Anthony was educated at St Julians High School for Boys, Newport, South Wales, and subsequently at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, London University (MBBS), and Jesus College, University of Oxford (DPhil). His D.Phil research was in the in utero surgical correction of fetal abnormalities.
Following specialist Plastic Surgery training at East Grinstead, London, Melbourne (Australia) and Oxford, he was appointed Consultant Paediatric Plastic Surgeon at Guy’s Hospital, London, where he specialised in Cleft lip and palate surgery, and Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. He was sometime Visiting Professor, Department of Applied Computing, University of Buckingham.
He was Trustee of the AMAR International Charitable Foundation, from 1992 to 2015. Later in 2015, he became a Trustee of Oxford Cloud Tutors, which is an Oxford based charity that provides tutorials via the internet, free of charge, for underprivileged children anywhere in the world.
His current research is focused on the place of the Internet in the provision of education for underprivileged children.
