Reverend Dalman has a PhD in Systematic Theology from Uppsala University (1989), focusing on the Third Earl of Shaftesbury, and was ordained a priest in 1990. Fifteen years in the Archbishop of Uppsala’s office followed, mainly dealing with doctrinal and ecumenical matters. among other things, he was actively involved in the implementation of the Porvoo Agreement, later to become the Porvoo Communion – a fellowship between the Anglican Churches of the British Isles and the Lutheran Churches of the Northern European (Scandinavian) and Baltic Countries.
In 1990/91 Reverend Dolman was a Visiting Fellow of Harris Manchester College, Oxford; a Farmington Fellow in 1991; Head of Verbum Publishing, Stockholm ,the main Christian publishers in Sweden, from 2000-2003; Dean of Strängnäs Cathedral 2008-2015; and Bishop of Strängnäs Diocese since 2015. He is also Chief Court Chaplain to the Royal Court of Sweden and Chaplain and Deputy Chairman of the Order of St John in Sweden.
He is married to Margareta Nisser Dalman, Director of The Royal Collections with the Bernadotte Library, with three grown-up children.
