Harris Manchester College has 14 medical students. They dine together weekly, on Tuesday evenings, together with tutors. Tutorials are often held afterwards. The main College Tutors are Dr Bee Wee, Professor David Matthews and Professor Patrik Rorsman. There is also a team of junior doctors and Harris Manchester alumni who assist with this.
The students run a ‘Medical Society’ which is a formal society with appointed officers. They hold an annual formal dinner.
There is a fund, comprising donations from various benefactors, to support the purchase of stethoscopes and other medical equipment. This can also be put towards the cost of electives abroad, though students are expected to fund these themselves as much as possible.
Relevant textbooks are purchased by the library as required.
