Alumni Carol Service

Harris Manchester College was delighted to welcome back alumni and their guests to our very first Alumni Carol Service, held on Saturday 3rd December.

We would like to offer our thanks to the following alumni who took part in the service:

Sue Brearley - 2018, BA English Language and Literature

Liisa Agren - 2007, BA Theology

Jessica Ogilvy-Stuart - 2019, PGDip Theology and Religion)

Piyush Ahuja - 2014, BA PPE

Tobias Tanton - 2012, DPhil Theology

Angie Johnson - 1991, BA English

Eric Eve - 1972, DPhil Theology

Riina Luha - 2013, BA Jurisprudence

HMC Principal, Professor Jane Shaw delivered the final reading and the service ended with a blessing from College Chaplain and HMC Alumna, Rev Claire MacDonald, from The Work of Christmas by Howard Thurman.

The service included some carol favourites as well as a masterfully musical performance by the HMC Chapel Choir, made up of current students, under our Director of Music, Dr James Whitbourn.

After the service, guests were invited into the Arlosh Hall to enjoy seasonal treats of mulled wine and minced pies, and catch-up with friends and former tutors. Our College Librarian put on a display of over twenty alumni and fellow authored books, celebrating many of HMC’s literary and academic stars.

The date for next year’s Alumni Carol Service is Saturday 2nd December. Save the date!
