It is with much sadness that the Principal and Fellows of Harris Manchester College have learnt of the death of Associate Fellow Dr John Roche. Dr Roche was a much-respected tutor on the history of science; his research used the history of physics to clarify ambiguities in present-day electromagnetism.
John was a respected member of the Senior Common Room, who was particularly kind to newly appointed academics just starting out on their careers; and the College sends its condolences to all his family, friends and colleagues.
