HMC Research Fellow elected to the Royal Historical Society

The Principal and Fellows congratulate Research Fellow Hana Navratilova on being elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (FRHistS).

The Society is the United Kingdom’s foremost learned society for those working professionally in the study of history. Every year it elects new Fellows from among the international community of university postholders, museum curators, archivists, heritage consultants, and independent researchers and writers. Hana is one of just 69 new Fellows elected from this wide-ranging group.

Hana joins several Harris Manchester colleagues who are also Fellows of the Society, including include Principal Jane Shaw, Fellow and Tutor Lesley Smith, and Research Fellow Janina Ramirez.

Professor Lesley Smith

Hana’s work on Egyptian secondary epigraphy – pyramid graffiti to you and me – fascinates everyone who comes into contact with it.  She’s someone it’s always a pleasure and an education to encounter in the SCR.  I’m delighted to have her as a colleague.
