Michaelmas Term 2021 - Library and Covid Protocol

Michaelmas Term 2021

Welcome back to the Library! We are looking forward to seeing you all again back in College.

The Library is open to HMC members Monday-Sunday 24/7 from Monday 0th Week (4th October). If the front door to College is closed, access is via the Navapan Gate and Tate Quad Door.

Kate and Niall are usually here 9am-5pm weekdays to help you get the material that you need, whether you are here in Oxford or further afield.

Covid-secure measures

To ensure that we maintain a Covid-secure workspace, everyone in the Library must:

  • Wear a mask at all times, unless exempt

  • Clean their study space when they start and when they finish

  • Wipe the self-service machine in advance of using it and once finished

The Library will also be fully ventilated (open windows) so do wear layers if it is cool outside.

A deep clean of the space will be undertaken before the Library opens but during the day it is important that you clean the space and equipment you use, wear a mask and wash your hands regularly and not come to College if you feel unwell.

Study Spaces

There are currently 40 study desks and 4 PCs available in the Library.

There is no need to book a timeslot and desks are unreserved.

Please move books and notes to the trolleys if you leave for an extended period. Personal belongings should be removed at the end of the day.

Browsing and Borrowing

The shelves are open to browse and books can be issued at the Self-Issue machine or at the staff desk. Return books to the box outside the library or Penelop the Returns Trolley inside. Email Kate or Niall if you need assistance searching for or borrowing books.

Get in Touch

Get in touch with Kate or Niall or email library@hmc.ox.ac.uk for anything you need.
