It seems like it was yesterday when I arrived at Harris Manchester College full of doubts and apprehensions about the timing to pursue my Master’s Degree, and then I saw the inscription engraved on the tower clock: “it’s later than you think, but it’s never too late”, and it was at that moment that I knew, I was home.
Since then, I have enjoyed every single minute, but there is a special place there that will always be close to my heart: The Tate Library. Although our college is very small, the Tate Library boasts the sixth largest college library at University of Oxford, offers the best student population to book ratio, and is open 24/7.
A few days ago, I was captivated with the idea of staying there forever; so, I kindly requested our dear Assistant Librarian if there was a chance that one of my books in Spanish could be registered as part of the inventory of the Tate Library. She agreed to do so, and kindly registered me as an author within the Oxford University libraries catalogue.
I can confidently say that this is the essence of my college: people who are always there to help you achieve your goals step by step, to help you to adapt to British culture, to Oxford culture, and make your days unforgettable.
I am happy to know, that I will always carry with me all the personal and professional lessons learned at my college. And in a beautiful way, I am also happy to know that through my book, I will always be there, at the Tate Library in Harris Manchester College.
