Our Principal, Professor Jane Shaw, has been appointed Chair of the University of Oxford’s Pitt Rivers Museum Board of Visitors. This comes at a pivotal time in the museum's history as it considers issues of decolonisation, and the repatriation and preservation of artefacts of cultural importance.

Professor Shaw said of her appointment: “I am delighted to be a part of the Pitt Rivers Museum at this moment when, under the visionary leadership of Professor Laura Van Broekhoven, it is putting ethics at the heart of all its work, looking at its past practices and the nature of its collection's display and interpretation, and the effects those have today.“
