Recognition of Distinction 2021

We are delighted to congratulate our Official Fellows Joshua Hordern, Jan-Emmanuel de Neve, and Kristin van Zwieten on their being recognised with the title of Professor by the University of Oxford’s Recognition of Distinction 2021 exercise. This exercise acknowledges the excellence of their work, and we are very proud that they are part of our community.

Professor Jan-Emmanuel de Neve

Professor de Neve has been appointed Professor of Behavioural Science and Economics within the Said Business School.

Professor de Neve’s research interests are in behavioural economics, public policy and human wellbeing. He is the Director of the Wellbeing Research Centre, based here at Harris Manchester College, and also currently serves as Vice-Principal of the College.

The underlying theme throughout his research is the study of human wellbeing. This ongoing research agenda has led to new insights in the relationship between happiness and income, productivity, economic growth, and inequality. Professor Joshua Hordern

Professor Hordern has been appointed Professor of Christian Ethics within the Faculty of Theology and Religion.

In Oxford since 2012, Professor Hordern supervises postgraduate students in the field of Christian Ethics and teaches undergraduate students on courses in Philosophy and Theology, Theology and Religion and Theology and Oriental Studies. Professor Kristin van Zwieten

Professor van Zwieten has been appointed Professor of Law and Finance within the Law Faculty.

Professor van Zwieten is also the Gullifer Fellow at Harris Manchester College, the Director of the Commercial Law Centre at Harris Manchester College, a Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute, and a co-founder and editor of the Oxford Business Law Blog.

Professor van Zwieten’s research interests are broadly in law and finance and law and development, with a particular specialism in corporate insolvency law. Click for more information on Professor van Zwieten’s achievements and publications.
