Sawyer Prize Poster Competition

The Sawyer Prize

For HMC Graduate Students

All HMC graduate students are invited to submit an entry for the college’s Sawyer Prize for Public Communication. All MCR members are invited to create an A3-size, non-technical poster, communicating to a general audience something from their study or research that excites them—whether it be an idea, piece of work, or discovery. The winner (who will receive £100) will be decided by the Principal, on the recommendation of a panel of college fellows. Posters will be assessed on the basis of how well they represent engaging public communication. Entrants are therefore encouraged to create clear, attractive, and non-technical posters that are understandable to all members of our community - including those from very different backgrounds and disciplines.

How to take part:

The deadline for entries is noon on Wednesday of 0th week, Trinity term (17 April). Entries should be submitted in PDF, JPG, or Microsoft Word/Powerpoint format) and emailed to the Senior Tutor. Posters will be printed by the college in colour at A3 size (please ensure all text and images are readable at this size). The entries will be displayed in college during 1st week, with an opening event and drinks on Monday of 1st week in the Warrington Room.

Sorry: no late entries will be admitted.
