At Harris Manchester we want to celebrate outstanding achievement by our students. That’s why we offer a number of different prizes and scholarships, recognising everything from exam performance to students’ contribution to college life. Explore the full range below.  

 

 

 


Academic Prizes

 

Academic Prizes are awarded for performance in public exams or other specified criteria. Below is a list of the Academic Prizes we're delighted to be able to award.

 

Awarded to the student who achieves the highest mark in the English First Public Examination paper Literature in English 1803-1910.

 

Awarded to the graduate student who submits the best A3, non-technical poster on their study or research as decided by the Principal.

 

Awarded on the basis of the best all-round contribution to College life. Nominations are made by Tutors and other student-facing staff.

 

Awarded to the student who achieves the highest average mark in the Moderations in Jurisprudence.

 

Awarded to the undergraduate student who achieves the biggest improvement between their first public examination and performance in finals.

 

Awarded to the student who makes the most overall progress in the second year of their course.

 

Awarded to the student with the best average mark in the Engineering FHS Part B examination.


College Scholarships

 

College Scholarships are awarded to undergraduates who achieve excellent marks in the First Public Examination, or are nominated by their Tutors in recognition of consistent excellent work. Scholarships are worth £100 per year and, if you're awarded one, you are entitled to wear a Scholar's Gown.

Collections Prizes

 

Collections Prizes are awarded to you when you achieve excellent marks of 70% or more in invigilated Collections at the start of term. Collections Prizes are worth £25 per 3-hour paper, or for each two papers lasting less than 3 hours.
