In June, Harris Manchester College welcomed celebrated Czech photographer Markéta Luskačová for a conversation about her career.

Moderated by Visiting Fellow the Reverend Dr Colin Bossen and College Chaplain the Reverend Claire MacDonald, the discussion offered a fascinating insight into Luskačová’s career, which began in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s and includes a notable record of life in London’s East End, as well as many other powerful images of people living on the margin of modern life.

Following the visit, the College was delighted to be gifted a photograph by Luskačová from her On Death and Horses and Other People series, along with a selection of her books.

The event was hosted by the Centre for Dissenting and Unitarian Studies at the College and co-organised by Supernumerary Fellow Dr Hana Navratilova, with the generous support of Velehrad London.
