Our Principal speaking to alumni and friends at the Harvard Club in New York
Coinciding with the ‘Meeting Minds’ alumni weekend across Oxford, we were delighted to welcome back alumni to College for afternoon tea at the Principal’s Lodgings. It was wonderful to catch up and share memories accompanied by sandwiches, scones, and cake! We are very grateful to alumni who travelled from near and far to join us for the celebration.
Earlier this month our Principal, Beth Breeze, was in the US to meet alumni and supporters with our new Development Director, James Fletcher. They were joined by Clare Davis, who worked on the College’s Next Horizons programme and met with alumni from the two cohorts.
Between them, they visited Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Miami. The visit concluded with a reception in New York’s Harvard Club, where Beth gave a speech outlining her vision for the College and sharing news about the successes of the current community of academics and students. We are very grateful to our alumnus and Regent Sebastian Alsheimer, who generously hosted the event.
Beth, James, and Clare were delighted to receive such a warm welcome and to strengthen the links with all our alumni and friends in the US.
James commented: “It was such a pleasure to meet alumni, supporters, and friends in Oxford and around the USA over the past few weeks. After only three weeks at the College, it is clear to me that this is a unique community. Its warmth and intimacy are its strengths. Thank you to all those who support the College – financially and voluntary – and to all those who have shown me such a warm welcome. I look forward to meeting more members of our wonderful community over the coming weeks and months.”
