Catherine Jackson is Associate Professor of History of Science and serves on the advisory committee for the Oxford Centre for the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology (OCHSMT). A PhD chemist and historian of modern chemistry, Dr Jackson has published extensively on the history of nineteenth-century organic chemistry including original studies of Justus Liebig, August Hofmann, Albert Ladenburg, and Emil Fischer; on the history of chemical training and the laboratory: and on chemistry’s material culture, especially the rise of scientific glassblowing.
