Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh OBE, a Professorial Fellow and member of the Governing Body at Harris Manchester College, has been named as a Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, a status typically reserved for heads of colleges and University officers with executive portfolios.

It follows Professor Sheikh’s appointment as Head of Department of the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences in October last year. His nomination as Pro-Vice-chancellor without portfolio was confirmed as part of the Vice-Chancellor's annual Oration in Oxford’s Sheldonian Theatre on 7 October.
