HMC Fellow scoops prestigious lifetime achievement award

An HMC Fellow has won a prestigious national award for her contribution to palliative care over the course of her career. Professor Bee Wee CBE, who is an Official Fellow at HMC and the College’s Tutor in Clinical Medicine, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement in Palliative Care Award at the recent Palliative and End of Life Care Awards.
Professor Wee, who also holds the position of Consultant in Palliative Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, was recognised for having “shaped palliative care nationally through decades of exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, and academic excellence".
Reacting to the award, Professor Wee said: “I’m thrilled to receive this Lifetime Achievement Award. Health and social care working together has never been more important. As a doctor, I feel particularly honoured and humbled to be given this award by my care sector colleagues. It’s amazing”.
