Opening of the Women who made (Harris) Manchester College

The Principal was delighted to welcome back to College some of those who are represented in the Women who made (Harris) Manchester College portrait exhibition. Prof Sue Llewelyn, Gillian Carey, Judith Nisbet, and Sue Killoran were all at the recent opening, along with Robert Taylor, the photographer, who was responsible for the magnificent modern portraits. Other guests included Jennifer Johnston and representatives of the Manchester Academy Trust, whose generosity enabled the exhibition to happen.

The photographs showcase some of the remarkable women from the College’s past, and recognise and honour those who have been instrumental in shaping Harris Manchester College in recent years, or are part of its ongoing story. The exhibition is part of an exciting and ongoing project to ensure that the diversity of those who have contributed to our development are made more visible across the College.
