In Conversation with...Václav Bartuška (Czech Ambassador to the UK)

Monday 27 April, 5.15pm

Join us in Harris Manchester’s beautiful arts and crafts chapel for the first event in Trinity term’s programme of public conversations with figures from academia, the arts and business.

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Václav Bartuška, will be talking about a life and career that has taken in the country’s 1989 revolution and prominent roles in domestic and European politics, including as a noted advocate for energy independence.

Ambassador Bartuška is also no stranger to academia, having held courses at New York University, the Czech Technical University and the College of Europe. Fittingly for an event at Oxford’s only college dedicated to mature students, he is also a supporter of lifelong learning, having himself been a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and subsequently a Marshall Fellow in his thirties.
