Peer Support

If you are experiencing a personal or academic issue, no matter how big or small, you are encouraged to make contact with your college peer supporters. A peer supporter is an undergraduate or graduate student who has undergone formal training with the Counselling Services that has enabled them to listen effectively, communicate sensitively, and handle confidentiality properly. The aim is to create a safe space for students to talk through their problems in an easily accessible and informal way.

Peer supporters abide by a code of practice and attend regular supervisions to consolidate their training and develop their skills. They can be found around college or contacted any time via the details provided below.

If you’re interested in becoming a peer supporter, please contact the Welfare Advisor, Kerry Minton.
