Worthington Circle

The Worthington Circle recognises, celebrates, and thanks all those who have committed to leaving a legacy gift to Harris Manchester College, Oxford.

Thank you for thinking of the college in your Will. Legacy commitments to Harris Manchester College ensure the vitaity of the college and create a firm foundation for the education of future generations of Oxford students aged 21 years and over.

Named in honour of the social reformer and architect, Thomas Worthington, who along with his son Percy designed and built the main college quad between 1889 and 1893, this legacy circle ensures that other visionary benefactors are given the opportunity to help build a sustainable and strong future for Harris Manchester College.

We are delighted to announce that the College has created The Worthington Circle to steward and expand the appreciated group of friends who kindly choose to remember us in their Wills. The idea being to plan, provide information and host events specifically tailored for Worthington Circle members. The future successes of Harris Manchester are underpinned by the continued generosity of friends. As we know you are probably aware, bequests are potentially one of our most important sources of significant and endowed gifts. They will ensure that we can continue to maintain and grow the existing excellence in every aspect of teaching, learning, research, and college life.

The very fact that many of these gifts are put in place years, even decades, before being realised, makes it vital that the college maintains an ongoing conversation with any benefactor. We appreciate fully that intentions can sometimes change as life unfolds and circumstances develop dictating the need for ongoing dialogue in terms of future planning.
